    The ALTE Introductory Course in Language Testing will take place online from 8th - 19th March 2021 (Monday - Friday).

    The course will be presented by Professor Anthony Green (CRELLA, University of Bedfordshire) and Jane Lloyd (Cambridge Assessment English). The course will consist of a mix of recorded lectures and downloadable exercises, alongside a 'live' element where participants meet for approximately an hour a day over the two week-period.

    Payment is in full when registering. Payment can only be made online using a Visa, MasterCard or American Express. In case of cancellation up until one month before the start of the events, the full amount will be refunded minus an €50 administration fee. If you have received the course book, you do not need to return this if cancelling. However, in the case of cancellation after this date, no refunds can be made.

    The ALTE 1st International Digital Symposium will take place from 28th - 30th April 2021. The theme of this virtual event is: Safeguarding the Future of Multilingual Assessment in the Post-Covid World.

    Our symposium will draw together some of the key themes relevant to safeguarding the future of language assessment, in multilingual contexts, in the Covid and post-Covid world. Find out more about the plenary speakers and the types of sessions on our dedicated page for the event: https://www.alte.org/Digital-Symposium-2021 .

    We will meet in one of the most innovative virtual platforms, Allseated exVo, which will allow to create a true conference experience with the unique ability to interact between delegates. Please note: the Allseated/ExVo platform should be accessed using the Chrome browser. The platform does NOT work on mobile or iPad devices. Your laptop/pc will need built-in audio in order for exVo to work.

    Registration fees for the event:

    €20 Members and non-Members of ALTE

    *€10 Special registration fee for students

    To register for this event, click on the 'Register' button on the left. This will guide you through the booking process, where you can pay for the symposium attendance.  

    The deadline for the registration is 14th April 2021.

    *This special registration fee is for students of Bachelors, Masters and PhD programmes. To benefit from this special rate, please upload evidence when asked for proof of status in the registration process. This might be a certificate issued by the University / institution, an official letter signed by a supervisor, etc.

    Cancellation Policy: Payment is in full when registering. Payment can only be made online using a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card. In case of cancellation before 31st March 2021, a full refund will be available minus a €5 administration charge. Any cancellation from 1st April 2021 will forfeit the whole registration fee.

    The ALTE course in Assessing Writing in the Digital Age is expected to take place in September 2021 in Cambridge, UK. Exact dates tbc.

    The course will be presented by Dr Sathena Chan  from the Centre for Research in English Language Learning and Assessment (CRELLA), University of Bedfordshire and Dr Jing Xu from Cambridge Assessment English.

    The ALTE 56th Conference Day is part of ALTE's Meeting and Conference that will be hosted by CVCL (Centro per la Valutazione e le Certificazioni Linguistiche) on Friday 12th November 2021.

     The conference day will be open to all those with an interest in language testing.
